Signup form: Creating a new user, form for IT useAsked by NationalIT on May 22, 2016 at 11:30 PM
I would like to know if it is possible to create a form specifically for the purpose of creating new user accounts (Computer log in accounts) with a password field. I've seen multiple threads about password fields and I understand they breach the T&C's of the site.
We are an IT company and we manage several networks. We need a new user form which allows company management to specify a password for new employee's in the form.
We already have the ability to change these passwords as we are the system administrators and as such are not phishing for information in any way.
Is there any way this can be done within the rules?
You cannot use our forms for the kind of registration forms where your users would enter their desired password, as we cannot differentiate such signup forms from login forms. For this reason, a form with a field for collecting passwords will get suspended for terms violation.
However, if you will be providing your new users with a password they will use, so they are not entering anything like a password on the form, this will be fine. In other words, your form can ask your users for their email address and their desired new username. From there, you will have to generate the user from your end, and then let the users know of their username and password combination - such as emailing it to them from your system.
You can take a look at the "sign up" and "registration" forms shared in our templates gallery to get an idea of what kind of registration forms are fine:
