how can I allow the survey recipient to make more than one choice in multiple option fields?

Rather than using radio button fields, switch to using checkbox fields.  Radio buttons are made to allow for only one selection.  Whereas checkbox fields are made to allow for multiple selections.  The range of allowed selections can be set in the checkbox fields settings.
