It is possible to prepopulate matrix. You can try to use Prepopulate app: http://prepopulate.jotform.io/ to generate URL for prepopulating your matrix field. Please check the gif below:

Now, it depends what exactly you are trying to achieve, but Prepopulate app can give you an idea how prepopulate URL should look like.

If you need any further assistance please let us know.

    Thank you!

I want to present a blank form to a user. User then completes and submits form.  Using calculate fields such I can create a hyperlink to a new form with the user data transfered to the second ormolu.

However matrix data does not transfer. Text box are ok and for drop down boxe field must have field values but it's not working for matrix data

    Cheers in advance

Please try to follow this guide:

    1. Open your second form and copy it's URL, for example mine is: https://form.jotform.com/61474945736972

    2. On that form do Right click -  Inspect elements:

What you need from that code is name which is just: input3[0].

You will add that to your form2 URL and have this:

    https://form.jotform.com/61474945736972?input3[0]

    3. Now open your first form and do the same Right click - Inspect elements:

We pick up the name of the field, which is the same in this case: input3[0].

But you will change that name to: {input3:0}.

And add it do the above URL with the equal sign:

     https://form.jotform.com/61474945736972?input3[0]={input3:0}

You will do excactly the same for the rest of the fields and add them with & sign, for example:

     https://form.jotform.com/61474945736972?input3[0]={input3:0}&input3[1]={input3:1}

Then just use Custom Thank you page on your first form to pass the value to the second one.

Please let me know how this works for you and if you need further assistance.

    Thank you!

that does not solve my problem.  I need a text box that would have a hyperlink so that i can reference it using a database.

the hyperlink would have to appear in a box in the form for it to work.

Thats why I have been using the calculate fields option.  Like i say this does not transfer matrix data

    @stevedellar

Just to clarify, you want to achieve the same method as you've described on this thread https://www.jotform.com/answers/847582?. So basically, you want to pass matrix field data from one form to another?

    If yes, that's possible.

First, you have to add the matrix field in your calculation condition.

    Example:

Then make sure your 2nd form contains matrix field where the data will be prepopulated. You have to get each of the matrix field's textbox name to populate them.

    Example:

    https://form.jotform.com/61505941352957?test[0][0]=firstvalue &test[0][1]=secondvalue

Where the following are the textbox names on the matrix field.

    test[0][0] <- first row - first field

    test[0][1] <-first row - second field

If you need further assistance or if you need clarifications, let us know.

To prepopulate fields in the form you provided, you can use this link:

    https://jotformeu.com/53131931974356?overall[0][0]=1&overall[1][1]=1

And here please see what it does:

So, for example, that specific link will prepopulate that specific matrix in that specific form. What you need to take care of is that form ID is correct.

Now, I'm not sure to which form you want to pass these values, but, you have to have Matrix on that form and use that form's ID.

To store this Custom URL for prepopulating your field. You can do what my colleague suggested, with form calculations you can create that same link as he showed above.

Hope it helps, if you need further assistance please let us know in which field you would like to store this URL and to which form are you transferring these values.

    Thank you!

    https://eu.jotform.com//?formID=53131931974356

    i did the first row

overall[0][0]= (adding the appropriate field, part of the matrix)

overall[0][1]= (adding the appropriate field, part of the matrix)

overall[0][2]= (adding the appropriate field, part of the matrix)

overall[0][3]= (adding the appropriate field, part of the matrix)

but when I save the changes and look back the brackets have been removed and looks like

    overall 0 0

not sure what im doing wrong

anyway ive saved the changes so you can have a look (Update Link)

    cheers

I just checked your form(53131931974356), and I could not find where(Thank You Page nor Email Notification) you are saving the custom link to pass the matrix values to the second form?

I was able to replicate the issue regarding usage of matrix fields in calculations. So I have forwarded it to our backend team for further checking.

We'll let you know the outcome through this thread.

    Thank you for your patience.
