Can Jotform change the Paypal login screen to just one page?Asked by MaggieJedlicka on June 02, 2016 at 08:20 PM
I'm testing LIVE transactions thru standard PayPal interface. I see on the one time donation screen at PayPal there is the PayPal LOGON prompt, which takes you to a completely new Login Screen, then back to the original PayPal page to effect the donation.
I have see on other PayPal interfaces that the LOGIN and PASSWORD are integrated into the first PayPal page, instead of going off into another page. IOW, the users get 3 screens (a. Initial Page - I'm attaching the screenshot, the PayPal login Page, then back to the Initial Page now with Donate on it) VS. 1 SCREEN if the Login is integrated into that first screen.
CAN JOTFORM DO THAT?
It makes a big difference to users, bumping around 3 times verses once.
If I understand correctly, you want the paypal page to look the same as the page for products? Please see screenshot below:
Unfortunately, that page is only visible if you are selling a product or a subscription. A possible workaround I can suggest would be to uncheck the "This is a donation" option in the payment wizard. Once unchecked, you should see the same page as the screenshot above. However, please note that if you uncheck this option, then the payment might not be classified as a donation in paypal.
I did it both ways; with the above option checked ("This is a donation...") and unchecked. Paypal deducted the same fees (since we have signed up with them as a Nonprofit, which we are). So...what's the difference between saying "This is a donation. We are a non-profit organization." and not? Do you know?
When you check the option 'This is a donation ..' the payment is passed to PayPal as a donation, not an amount to be paid for an item/product or the like. Since your PayPal account was created as non-profit, the same rate might still be applied if you leave the option unchecked or not.
That is my take as well. So..if I uncheck "This is a donation..." in the PayPal Wizard, I get the ONE page, where my users can do EVERYTHING and they are not bounced around to 3 different screens, which as you know in a lot of cases, people GIVE UP because its too cumbersome. There's no "harm" as we pay same fees to PP as NP. Do you know... are these "canned" webpages via the JotForm wizard are setup by PayPal or does Jotform design them with PayPal? (this will be my last ?).
When you are redirected to Paypal, everything that happens there is part of Paypal. It's not a thing that Jotform can change. That is their way of processing payment.
You may also consider using Paypal PRO payment. To accept payment by credit card in the form without going to Paypal payment page.
