How to automatically post on an FB page using JotForm?

Asked by alex on June 07, 2016 at 10:32 AM

Good day, I am trying to test out the below but there is no ADMIN SETTINGS / MOBILE in FB anymore - please can you go over step by step what I need to do, so that filling in the form will automatically post as a status update on a facebook page?

I cannot find this "email address" for my FB page.

Facebook assigns a special email address to a page to which you can send e-mail messages to be automatically converted to status updates.

You will need to use this email address as the recipient for your form's notification.

    To get this e-mail address:

    1.  Log in to your Facebook page's admin account

    2.  Use Facebook as [your page's name]

    3.  Click Admin Settings

    4.  Click Mobile

After retrieving this email address, create a separate notification for your form

    1.  Click Setup & Embed > Email Alerts > Add New Email
    2.  Choose Notification then click Next
    3.  In the Compose Email wizard, click Use Text E-mail then delete everything in the email body
    4.  Create a status update template in the Subject line. For example:  {name} has joined our club today. {name} is from {address}.

The field placeholders (in curly brackets) are automatically generated when you click the corresponding field name on the Form Fields menu found at the right hand side of the Compose E-mail screen. That means you can choose which fields you want to display on your Facebook status update.

Click here to see the notifcation template for my sample form which automatically posts updates to a test Facebook page.

The post was way back 2012. Unfortunately, it seems like Facebook has drop the post by email feature. I can see a lot of Facebook users looking for this feature last year, here are some post from their community page:

You might need to find another way on how to do it, I am not familiar with a 3rd party app that can do this, but I'll try to search for some other workarounds. I hope that helps.

I see that IFTTT.com allows you to auto post on Facebook using their service as the trigger. You can check the page for more details: https://ifttt.com/connect/email/facebook.

However, you might need to use your email address as the sender email on your form notifications for the trigger in IFTTT to work. I suggest setting up an SMTP email as the sender, here's a guide about it: https://www.jotform.com/help/244-How-to-Setup-SMTP-for-a-Form

    I hope that helps.

JotForm is now available on IFTTT where you can integrate with FaceBook and other services - give it a try: https://ifttt.com/jotform
