File Upload: Upload Fails When Uploading File of Size above 400MB
-
DtformsAsked on June 09, 2016 at 07:40 PM
I have the same issue with 400MB files on 22.6mb/s upload connection. Anything under is working. Most our media from our clients is 600-900mbs. Using the individual upload tool is not an option since they can have anywhere from 10-30 files to up. I notice you made reference to the file picker widget from File stack, why is this not an option anymore? Can I use their picker api with your form by setting an account directly with them?
This is a re-post of a comment on Changing the File Upload Size Limit

We would like to apologize for any inconvenience this is causing you. Have you tried uploading all of it in batch and not in full bulk? I'm also making some tests on my end and will give you an update once the upload is done.
We would also like to apologize, because yes, we no longer support integration with Filepicker/Filestack anymore. I'm not quite sure of the reason why, but I will ask for it and will let you know on this thread once I got the answer.
Thank you.

Thanks but it seems like this has been a known issue with this app since 2013 based on the other threads here. I tried this several times and it's consistently fails at anything over 400mbs any under it works fine, the file size is set to the max 1048576. I've tried to use other widgets but none of them work the way your's does with file management. My connection speeds are good and I've tried other online uploaders and we can easily upload 3.7GBs in about 21mins at 22.5mb/s. We really like the integration to Gdrive and box.com with the metadata associated with the media but not being able to upload larger files is a must for us.

I have uploaded a total of 522MB to a File Upload field on this form, https://form.jotform.com/61607802638963.
Which I have set the maximum File Upload size to 600 MB and enabled multiple uploads.
I uploaded the files in one go(bulk) and it was uploaded properly and I was able to submit it successfully.
If you want you can check the submission page of that form and click the links to the files I have uploaded.

The password would be: Upload600MB

Even your single uploader fails with 400MB files so not sure what your doing differently but it's not working.

Smaller files work, so it's not mine connection.

Okay, I even used your uploader, failed with one 450+mb file. I need to get this resolved ASAP. Thanks!

Okay, I have tested this extensively, the uploader tool is failing at anything over 382Mbs, Under that threshold it works. This a setting on your end that's not happening. The account is set to 1GB but it's not allowing the file to finish uploading. It always fails at the end 99%. Here are a list of files and file sizes that worked and didn't work. The largest I was able to get up was 368Mb's so you can see for yourself.

Apologies for the inconvenience. Can you please try clearing the browser cache and cookies then try uploading again? If the issue persists, please try using a different device to upload the file. I will wait for your response. Regards.

I've used two different PC on Wn 8.1 and two different browsers (FF & Chrome) so it's not as simple as that. I started over with a brand new form just the uploader tool nothing else. The multiple file uploader failed again but I was able to get the single uploader to 800mbs per file. Then I tried two 400mb files at the same time that worked. Next I am going try 4. Since most of my clients need the ability to upload many files at once so this really isn't the fix as an upload tool. I need to multi uploader fixed to do 800-900mb per file as you claim it can do.

Nope, didn't work. Four single upload at 400mb files failed, your server can't handle the data after two. That's not going to work for us. Please look into getting this fixed.

I am currently investigating this issue. I am also testing this further on my end. Please allow me sometime to further investigate the issue. I will get back to you as soon as I get a result. Regards.

Hi,
I tried to upload files of sizes around 500MB. They reach 100% of the upload but eventually failed.
I will have to escalate this to our developers for further checking. You will be informed on this thread once this is fixed.

Yeah, that's exactly what has been happening to us. Thank you!

KadeJMAnswered on June 10, 2016 at 02:45 PM
Thank you kindly for confirming with us that's the problem, much appreciated.
Chriistian, has already escalated this issue for our developers to look at this issue as soon as they have time and then we'll update you again at that point.

Hey Dtforms,
Multiple upload feature, because of AJAX technology, is not able to handle more than 200 MB files.
If you need more than 200MB files, you should disable multiple uploads feature.
Kindest Regards,
- Ertugrul.

You are missing the point, I have repeatedly tested your "upload tools" both the single and the multiple uploaders, they can't handle more than two 300-400 per file, all documented here on this thread. Your site claims 1000MBs per file, this is what I expecting and this what I am paying for. Telling me you can't do it is unacceptable for us, we are dealing with media files in reality the limit should be 2GB like all other cloud services but we are willing to settle for 1GB because of your other services. I'll expect a credit for all the test files we uploaded last week as well and I'll need to downgrade my account to the Bronze if you can't fix this.

KadeJMAnswered on June 13, 2016 at 02:30 PM
We understand the frustration and inconvenience this might be causing you but we have mentioned limits as per our file size upload guide.
I believe this was part of the reason per Ertugrul's response to you about it because this is how our platform currently operates.
And I think if it functions to allow more on other platforms those other parties are probably using some other alternative methods to allow uploads at much larger sizes.
Additionally, I've mentioned your statement above to my superiors to see if there's anything more that can be done about this perhaps though I cannot make any guarantees and I'll get back with you about it as soon as I can.

Forget the multiple uploader. All over the forms (jotform Employees) state the max file size is 1GB for the single uploader tool. Uploading more than (2) 400MB files at any time fails. This is the point. I have spend countless hours testing this and repeating myself over and over again because your support staff doesn't bother to read the entire thread correctly. Again, I need this fixed this week or I'll need to cancel the service and expect a full refund.
