Can we make more than one payment-tool field in one form?

Asked by theanhdbt on March 20, 2012 at 11:54 PM

    Hi Mod,

In my form, I want to use payment-tool field not for the purpose of making availability for customer to make order and payment. Jotform offers payment tool for this purpose and hence, it enables user make only one field of payment tool in a form.

But I use payment-tool with only one purpose: using total function. So, at first I think about available resource: payment tool vs grading tool. My form on paper is similar to matrix, but cannot use matrix, because it doesn’t support total function – mod suggest me to calculate by hand – multiplying for the value that I want, but this method showed inconvenience. So there is one of two choice for me: payment tool or grading tool. With grading tool, I can create as many fields that I like, but grading tool is not convenience because I cannot set value for each option like assigning quantity value in payment tool. So finally, I chose payment tool which is much better than grading tool in two aspects: 1) I can control the value in each “item” (by setting quantity) (I cannot do this with grading tool: there is no control for value in each “option”) 2) The display of quantity in payment-tool field in tablet or in smartphone is better will be much faster (and more accurate) for respondent to select quantity in payment tool than selecting value in grading tool (I tried this on my smart phone to compare payment tool and grading tool).

My question: Unfortunately, form allow only one payment-tool field, I indeed need many payment-tool fields available in same form. Is there any way to make that feasible?

(My survey have lots of matrixes, not only one)

    Thanks Mod,

    Best Regards,

    The Anh

    Hi The Anh,

Question though, assuming that we were to able to put 2 Payment tool in a single Form, what is the final purpose for this 2 payment tool? Is the ulitmate objective to summarize the Total field within the form also?

I'm sorry to say this,  there is no way to add more than one payment tool.

Like my other colleague has stated, what would the purpose of having more than one payment tool?

Hopefully we could come back with an option

    Hi The Anh,

     Hi Mod,

    Yes, that’s my ultimate objective.

Because my form contains five tables

    Table 1:

    Answer 1 (option1)

    (Corresponds to 0 score)

    Answer (option2)

    (Corresponds to 1 score)

    Answer 3 (option3)

    (Corresponds to 2 score)

    Answer 4 (option4)

    (Corresponds to 3 score)

    Question 1

    Question 2

    Question 4

    Question 5

    ….

Matrix is unable to make summary for total Score for each table matrix => I switch to use payment tool

(Set currency is “no currency”; set price is “1.00”; set quantity corresponds to the score: quantity are “0,1,2,3”) => payment tool enable me to make total (total payment without currency symbol will be acknowledge as “total Scores”)

Similar for table 2 to table 5: I need to calculate total score for each table. Unfortunately I don’t know how to enable more than one “payment” fields which in my ultimate aim is for total calculation.

    Thanks for your help,

    Hi The Anh,

As stated by my colleague previously, JotForm do not support yet calculated values. Which will also deem your ultimate aim for total calculations for two Payment tools in a single form unachievable at this time. I would like to assure you though that such feature is currently a work in progress, as it was requested more than several times by our JotForm users.

The most we can do really for you for now is to provide you support on whatever course you will take to achieve your aim using JotForm. I can assure you, the percentage that you will find an alternative means to work it out using JotForm tools will be high. We have seen great workarounds presented by users itself in achieving what they wanted in the forms.

Should you come up with a new approach and require assistance, please feel free to contact us.

    Thanks.
