Migrate Data from one Field to another field of same form.Asked by GBKC_Admin on June 14, 2016 at 08:49 PM
Suggestion: It might be a good idea to be able to migrate data from one field to another. Consider the scenario where you are using the standard radio button on your form and, after some submissions have been received, you decide that it would be better to use another selection field such as the “Image Radio Buttons” form widget. At present, I would have to manually copy the data in the original radio button fields into the new widget fields and do the same for the data in any integrated service such as Google docs. What do you think?
Unfortunately we do not have such feature where you can move submission data of one field to another field. I am not sure if this will be feasible but let me send a feature request to our back end team. We will get back to you as soon as we have any update from them.
For now, I would suggest you to please take a look at our "Import Data" app which will help you achieve your requirement with a little workaround. Here are the steps you should follow:
#1. When you need to change your question type, first export your forms submission data in excel.
#2. Make changes to your form or simply clone it.
#3. Format your excel data as per requirement of "Import Data" app and import it in your existing or cloned form.
