I am confused about this. It says I have 10gig of upload space, but what is that?
Is this a maximum per month, per year?
Is there a way to delete the files to gain the space back?
What is the difference between Upload Space Total and Submission Space Total?
I appreciate any clarification you can give me on this.

The upload space adjusts depending on the number of file submissions you have received and the file size accumulated by your account. It stays as is as long as you do not delete your submissions. So the way to reduce your file storage space is to simply delete your submissions which has files submitted with it.
Upload space refers to the files received by your account. Submissions storage on the other hand is simply about the submission counts. Free users are limited to 500 submissions and that once they exceed the limits, the oldest submission in their account will automatically get deleted, unlike for paying subscribers whose submissions shall not get deleted.
Hope this clarifies your concerns.
