How to know if the form is being edited and then show a field?

Is it possible to have a field hidden on a form and then have the field show up only after it's opened via the edit link?

Yes this is indeed possible, to achieve it you only need to add this widget to your form: https://widgets.jotform.com/widget/get_form_page_url

This guide will help you to add the widget: How-to-Add-a-Widget-to-your-Form

Then when the widget is added to your form you will need to add a condition, it should be like this:

How to know if the form is being edited and then show a field? Image 1 Screenshot 20

The value that widget returns is the link to the form and when it is being edited the link is similar to this https://jotform.com/edit/formID then it will work as you need.

Do let us know if it helps.

Thanks, that kinda worked.  I'm also trying to hide a submit button and show a different one when the forms opened in the edit link.  That possible?

    Glad to know it worked.

And yes, it is possible, the condition will change a bit, instead of only showing the field you will also show the desired submit button and will hide the other one, here is a screenshot of the condition to be used:

This is a sample form, when loading it before a submission:

This is when editing the submission:

Here is also the link to the form so you can test it yourself and see the result of it: https://form.jotform.com/61726389456973

The edit link will be shown in the thank you page.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks. I'm still trying to hide/show different submit buttons but not sure I'm doing it correctly because 2 are still showing on the original form. This is on my Clone of Requisition Form i'm trying to do this on.
