How to delete out of date / unwanted images

I want to delete some images that are incorrect so that when I upload the new one, which will look similar, I don't have to guess which is which, taht is I want only one version of the image in the gallery.

The upload has clearly changed in the past few months, I am sure there was an option either use thimage or delete in the previous uploader
