Not able to send email base on calculation value

In my Please Contact Me form, I can't get my E-mail to send to the Calculation Value.

I've done this before on a donations form and it works beautifully. In both forms, the user is to select a name from a drop-down list and an e-mail is to go to the Calculation Value of that drop-down list.

I've removed commas from the values, field names and generally tried to eliminate any possible issues, but SOMETHING is still getting in the way.

Could you please take a look?

Feel free to send test message to either the Webmaster or David selection.

Thanks so much; this is a fantastic platform.

    David

    Hi David,

I assume this is the form https://www.jotformpro.com/form/61764083277967 you were working on.

The conditional email is not working becuase there is a missing Recipient E-mail field in the Notifier.

I suggset you edit the Notifier and assign the email field in the Recipient Email field.

Let us know if this did not fix the issue.

I have checked your form and I can see it is not sending the emails to the email added in the calculation values.

I made a form and tested it, I can see the email wizard is not accepting the calculation value, but I would suggest you to use conditions to achieve it.

Here is how the email was sent, it tried to send it to the text in the form instead of the calculation value:

To apply the workaround I suggest, you will need to add a text box field to your form:

Then make a condition, it should be Update / Calculate Value and it should be like this:

Then  select that field in the email wizard and the email will be properly sent, please try it and let us know if it works for you.

    Thank you.

I understand the work around, but I’m curious why the calculation value method I used doesn’t work here, but does work on my Donations form.
When I look at the Responses for this form, I see that the expected value is not the E-mail address we expect.
If you could shed light on this I’d appreciate it.

Thanks again for looking at this,
    David

    Hello,

On your donations form, I see that the calculations value is already set to A-Z (alphabet characters) which is why even when changing the condition to do a 'copy a field's value, it is working as it should. I'm not sure if you have made changes on those or if it was caused by updates, but one thing I know is that for using calculations on conditions, the initial default setting is values are numeric unless changed to alpha characters.

If you have more questions, please do let us know.

    Thanks.
