How do I make URLs in form submissions clickable?

Asked by hil001 on March 26, 2012 at 01:25 PM

When I receive my forms, the email addresses are clickable, but the URLs NOT.

I already tried replacing {webSite} with {webSite} but to no avail.

    Could someone please help me?

I read that article, but it does NOT answer my question. That article shows how to make an edit link. I don't want an edit link, I want a clickable link in the form content I receive. In other words the links in the notification email should be active (clickable).

If someone types www.sohosystems.co.za (or whatever their address is) into the form, I want to click on the link in the notification email. Currently I only receive a text (non-active) link.

Thanks for the help so far ;-)

Try replacing {webSite} (in the HTML source of the notification email) with these codes to make the website links clickable:

    <a target="_blank" href="http://{webSite}">{webSite}</a>

Note that you'd have to ask your users to enter their website's address in www format (without http).

We hope you find this useful. Feel free to respond back if you're still having problems with this.

Jonathan: Thanks, but I know how to script a static link ;-) lol

Neil: Thanks, I will try that now. Looks promising ;-) Will let you know whether it worked.

    hi hil001,

Glad it it worked. Thanks to Neil indeed. =)
I just realize my suggestion was not the correct one since you were not asking for the static linking. I just remove it to prevent misleads on other users looking for similar solution.

Thanks Jonathan. That's a good idea. Hope you make this an integrated feature, since it's very useful.

For interest sake, we make use of JotForm to Post Directory Entries to SOHO Search at http://sohosearch.blogspot.com/

Wow. Simply nice web site. Even Alexa ranked already. =)

Yes, the integration feature indeed will be more useful. But I am aware that such feature was already lined up among the request lists. Just don't know though when it will be realize since our developers do prioritize them in sequence and importance.

    Thanks hil001.
