    Can you configure mime type of your server to handle Microsoft Word 2007/2010 fomat .docx?

    When we tried to download a Word file with .docx extension, it's treated as .zip. Thanks

    Hello;

    This problem occurs only with Internet Explorer on computers with Microsoft Office installed. It is a recurring problem, not just with Jotform, but with other services as well. IE is having a hard time identifying the application to open the file, thus it resorts to downloading the xlsx and docx documents as .zip files.

    The easiest way to overcome this issue is to use another browser such as Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome. Try using any of the two browsers to download your files and let us know if it helps or not.

    One possible solution might to convert it to doc format using this:

    When I click on it, my browser was able to recognize the file type just fine.
    I think there must be some security setting in your browser that is preventing the file from being automatically opened as 'known' type.

    Many clients are still using IE 8 with MS Office 2007. Per Microsoft, you need to add the mime type to the sever configuration.

    Hi,

    On our servers, we already have these mime-types configured in the configuration.

    I see that your problem is related with our file holder (AmazonS3) and it was temporary. 

    I have checked with all common browsers to re-create the problem, but I have failed.
