Is there a way for a check box field to negate all other check boxes or radio boxes on the form?

Asked by Dragonscar on July 08, 2016 at 05:53 PM

In order to manage subscription preferences on a form, ideally, a form designer should be able have one of the (the Unsubscribe button) negate any Yesses either accidentally placed or residual from database that happen to be there.  Can that be done?  If so, how?

    Thank you,

    Laura Douglas

With negate I presume you're referring to clear selected options in radio buttons and check boxes.

This seems to be possible by using another field such as radio button or check box, you can also use a text box or another field, but submit buttons.

You should use the "Update / Calculate" condition to achieve this, your condition should look like this:

Here is a sample form that I made using this method, please take a look here: https://form.jotform.com/61898852625976

There is an option to add a clear button, but this will clear all the fields in the form, to add it to your form you need to click on the submit button and then turn on the "Reset Button" option:

Please let us know if you have questions, we will be glad to help you.
