How can I set Tab order. The form insists on going across columns instead of down them.Asked by Dragonscar on July 08, 2016 at 07:22 PM
I have a Contact form that uses 2 columns. The left column (to be filled in first) contains the fields for Contact information. The right column contains the fields for Reason for Contact, including form and photo upload options.
When I tried out the form myself, it went from "Name" to "Reason for Contact" then back to Email, then message. Next it went back left to Street Address, then right to 2 check boxes and back to City, State, Zip and so on.
This is not a rational order. The Name field is input_5, while the E-mail field is input_6.
So, how do I get it to Tab down instead of across?
The tab works according to the arrangement of your fields in the the form builder. It does not work base on their names.
This is how your fields are arranged (when you view them on the field manager wizard) and the tab jumps according to its order. Technically, they are also arranged the same way on the source code.
So basically, when you are on the name field, it would jump to the checkbox field before the email.
If you want, you can use your form source code and apply tabindex attribute on the field elements as suggested here http://webcheatsheet.com/html/controll_tab_order.php.
