I have a form that requires the parent signature before submitting. I have created a few fields that will be edited by office staff after the form is submitted. These fields only show if the signature line is filled.
Problem - when the form is edited in the office and additional information added, then submitted, the parent signature is erased from the form. If I remove the "requirement" from the signature field, the office staff can edit the form as needed and retain the signature.

If I understand your issue correctly I believe you are saying that your required signature field is edited by your staff as part of an approval process then resubmitted the filled in signature disappears but if it's not required then it stays there even after being resubmitted, correct?
I've tested this currently but the signature is showing in my email and submissions viewer so far as I seem to be unable to replicate the issue yet.
May we know more about where you are seeing the signature disappear on your end?

It's working for you because I removed the "required" from the signature field. If I make that field required, this issue will occur. I have parents actively submitting forms this afternoon as I just sent it out earlier today.
Perhaps you could make a copy of the form for testing purposes, make the signature required and replicate my steps to see the issue.

I was able to reproduce the issue on my cloned form. When I edit the submission and submit the form again the required signature field disappear.

I found the cause of this conflict to the setting in Preferences / Advanced settings for the Clear Hidden Field Values option.
The setting must be set to 'Don't Clear'. See the image above on how to correct.
This should fix the issue. Let us know if it did not.

of the impact of that option. I will try that and see if that resolves the
issue for me.
I am missing some of the preference options I had a couple of months ago,
like keep alive. What happened to those preference settings?
