How do I create multiple fields on (1) one line for my job application? In other words, I want to create an EDUCATION heading with a table, 4 boxes across the top: labled school, address, degree, year graduated. Like a table for schools attended, 4 across and 4 down. Can I do this in Jotform and how? The same for references and other sections on employment forms.
Also, can I create multiple pages instead of one long continuous page? The application would only be about 2 -3 pages.
Can I create the form in word and upload it as a .pdf and edit it in jotform?

Yes, what you can do is to create your form and select from our Survey Tools a matrix and page break form. You can also add a Form collapse to set the Heading
Here it shows you how:
In order to customize the labels you need to click on properties , on each form type (matrix, collapse or page break)
Here you have the example of what my colleague did to customize the matrix
You can even choose the input type for your matrix form, my colleague have choosen the text box one
Hope this guide helps you to build the desired form, feel free to come with more questions if you will
