Autocompleted Address Widget: export each individual element separately

Asked by Benflips on July 17, 2016 at 10:36 PM
Also, with the Home address widget styling that I've been helped with, if I export the data, can it export each individual element separately? And what happens if a person has a Unit Number or suite number etc?

If you want to export your data individually you need to use text box field instead of Autocompleted Address Widget. In addition to that when I've checked your Home address field I am not able to see some of your fields as you see below:

Did you change it with CSS code?

Yes Beril. There has been extensive alterations with CSS code.
It works fine in preview mode.
However, what is the point of these extra boxes if not to separate the
address elements for transmitting the data?
If they serve no function, why do they exist?
Long before I used this widget, I had a similar widget that ONLY had the
"Enter yoru address here" input field, and not the boxes below. I changed
to this widget because I assumed there was some benefit for doing so...it
    seems there isn't any?
Your all states/cities widget is clunky and useless for addresses; The
existing quick address fields cannot be altered from their 'block'
appearance; And the only other way (it seems) to have some auto-checking of
this data, is through the above widget.
This is an area that JotForm need to improve.
Ideally, I want the flexibility of the Google powered widget above,
followed by the ability to separate the address into its component parts
(or at least into street address/city/state/postcode/country) so that this
data can then be fed through your report into a CRM solution that has these
fields separate. Is there a simple way to do this, or am I dreaming?

I am able to see the field when I 've checked it on preview:

I've tested it on your cloned form,  the data is not visible at the same line.

As per you request, I will escalate it to our second level as a feature request. Thank you for your suggestion, I think you're right it is really great idea You will be notified about it if they decide to implement it. via this thread. Please note that creating a feature request does not ensure that the feature will be implemented. It completely depends on upon the feasibility and priority of our back end team.

I see you've put it in as a feature request, great!
Thanks, so I just want to clarify (as I've not yet done a dummy submission
to see how the data comes to me) - Does it get 'reported' the way you've
highlighted in the pink box above? Will it show 'City/Town:' and then the
    Town and so on?
I would just like to know if I should just revert back to the standard
google-powered widget, rather than this more complex one...

This is how the widget gives you the data:

    1. In the form submissions page:

    2. In the Email:

    3. In the excel file:

    4. In the PDF:

In short, the data is wrap in each output file.

Thanks...so that does separate the data at least visually which is great,
and if you are putting in a design request to see if it can be separated in
the future that is also great...
But one question that may have been overlooked in all this - what happens
to the output if the address has a unit number, such as 2/46 street
    name....etc
I tried this on my form, and google certainly recognises the address, but
then when you select it there is no field or 'place' for the unit number.
How does that get exported, or does it get 'lost'?

The address field's elements are actually still editable before you can submit the form. So this can be manually inputted first to have the correct full address.

    Example:

Please clarify if this is not what your last question was about.

    Thanks.

    Not quite...at least I don't think so.
The widget I have inserted is one that uses Google to determine the
address. Once selected, the address is populated into a range of fields -
street address / city / state etc
Yet on this widget there is no pre-defined field for unit number / suite
    number etc
I'm just wondering with this particular widget, what happens to the suite
number or unit number? Is it still stored somewhere and still transmitted,
or is only the street number/street address stored and submitted?

I tested Autocomplete Address widget that you're using on your form and it is passing values normally which you can see below:

If you have any further questions do not hesitate to let us know.

    Thank you!

    Jeepers!
In australia we put the unit number first...such as
2/4 timewell crescent, boronia, victoria australia.
When I use MY address widget on my form
    https://www.jotform.com//?formID=43420990799871
the google engine recognises the address, but then, when I select it, there
is no second field for unit number in the 'breakdown boxes' of address
    elements.
When I select addressed like this, all I see is the street number, not the
    unit number...
    Hence my question...

Only house number is available on the AutoCompleted Address Widget. In your form, you have labeled it as "Street Number".

Note that under "Show Fields", there are only 6 fields available so if you're looking for something else, I'm afraid it is not available on the current version of that widget.

    Thanks!

You are not getting my point, or the thrust of my question.
I KNOW there are only the six fields. I know what I have the particular
field labelled as. Whether I have it labelled as house number or street
number makes NO DIFFERENCE to the behaviour as tested - when you select an
address with a unit number using the google engine, it will ONLY populate
the street number into the street (or HOUSE) number field...
What I am asking is what happens to the DATA, if someone selects an address
that has a unit number from the google engine.
I KNOW it is not displayed in the subsequent 6 boxes.
I *want to know* if the output address in the report will include the full
address (with the unit number) or whether the unit number gets 'lost' and
the output only shows street (house) number.
Do I need to add a screenshot to make this clear or does my question make
    sense now?

The output address in the report will contain only the 6 data of each fields that were available in the autocomplete address widget.

I *want to know* if the output address in the report will include the full address (with the unit number)...

If the element/field contains the full address (i.e. with the unit number), then the output report will include it also since it is the data captured on the widget.

Hope this answers the question. Let us know if still not clear.

    Thank you.

    right...so

I've just done a submission to see the output, and you're right, it only had the 6 data fields. This is a major fault that needs to be fixed in this widget (hopefully asap).

It looks like, despite a profound amount of coding I asked for to customise this widget, I now have to revert to the more basic google address engine, because this data is lost.

If someone puts an address in, and it includes a unit number, that unit number MUST be captured.

I hope it can be fixed asap.

Please let me know, because as I say, if it won't be, I have to remove that widget completely

I've also tested it on your cloned form. You're right. It is not including the complete address on submission page:

I will report that issue to our developers. Because of that reason, I've created a separate thread for you, so I will be able to assist you with your specific requirement. Please follow up there:
