How to affect a field based on a selection of another field in the same form?

I would like a connection between the selection made in one field and an automatic entry in another.  For example if I choose sugar from a drop-down shopping list can the price appear in another field automatically?

This will be achieved with conditions, basically you will need to set an action that will trigger the condition, then you can copy the value and paste it in another field.

I made a sample form that you can take a look on this link: https://form.jotform.com/62034872511955

This is the condition that I used:

Do note that you will need to set up calculation values to your form, to do it you need to click on the field settings icon and then click on "Edit Preferences":

Then once you get the preferences wizard, go to the "Surveying" section and then in the "Calculation Values" section set up the values, in your case this will be the prices.

Also, do note that the first value must be 0 as this is the empty option in the drop down:

Then the result of this should be as shown on the screen-cast below:

Here is a guide that will help you with updating another field's value with conditions: How-to-Insert-Text-or-Mathematical-Calculation-into-a-Field-Using-Conditional-Logic

However, if you have questions, please let us know, we will be glad to help you.
