Hi, we are running a fundraiser where approximately 100 families would purchase various food items in the range of about $300 - $2000. I am looking for a system where I can post all of the items available and they would be able to choose their items and it would add them all up and give a total, and then send in a list of what each family ordered. We usually have them pay by cheque rather than online so it doesn't necessarily have to have payment options but we would need each order and the ability to add quite a few products.
Is this something I could accomplish with Jotform?

It is indeed possible to accomplish your requirement using Jotform. You can check out this guide to setup your order form: Setting Up Your First Order Form. Since you do not require an online payment, you can use the Purchase Order tool to create your order form.
