I have my form settings so that it's going to a specified external URL, a thank-you page on my site.
I read in the support forum that putting into the <form> html will cause the thank-you page to open in a new page, but even though I don't currently have that code in there it does open in a new page, in fact I inserted to try to keep it from opening a new window, but that didn't work
Is there a way to set it so that my external URL specified opens in current window/current tab?

I have tried submitting your JotForm http://www.jotformpro.com/form/60396180069964 and see that the Thank you page is displaying in the same window. Are you still experiencing this issue at your end? If so, let us know if you have embedded the form on any your web pages and trying to submit the form from there? Please provide us with the web page URL where you have embedded the form so that we can take a look and provide you with necessary assistance.

Where I have 60396180069964 currently embedded at http://www.audiologyonline.com/grouplearning/ is where the new window problem is happening with the "Connect with us" button
EDIT: Sorry forgot to add the /grouplearning/ to URL on first reply

It looks like that you have embedded the form using source code. Since you want to display the form as a popup, you may consider embedding the form using Light box embed method. Please refer to the guide below that can help you with this.
Let us know how it goes. If the issue still persists, please let us know if you are using any website builder or CMS for your web site so that we can take a look again.
