I am not sure how your process flow works. An excel file is a separate file in a local storage. There's no way for a form submission to directly interact or update an existing Excel file.

However, we do have some apps and integration that might help.

Option #1: You can integrate your form to Google Spreadsheet, that allows you to have an online spreadsheet where the submissions will directly be saved, you can also allow your users to edit their submission which will also reflect on the online spreadsheet.

Option #2: You can use this app ReportsToCloud, that should allow you to receive an updated excel file o your submissions on your Dropbox folder.

To learn more about JotForm's other reports creation, you can check this guide link: https://www.jotform.com/help/326-How-To-Create-Form-Reports-in-JotForm

    I hope that helps.

On a different note, if you would like to import your existing data to JotForm, then you can try checking this guide: https://www.jotform.com/help/308-Import-App-Easily-import-your-Excel-or-CSV-data-into-JotForm

    Thank you Charlie,

I succeded importing the list as a submission list. I wonder how could I show the submission to each respondent of their submission, then let them to modify it.

The flow is the following: I have some contact details, and I want to know more about the respondents opinion and to let them modify their contact details. This means the form should show, based on the email address where the form is shown, the contact details of the specific respondent.

And of course, our respondent should see only their own pre-populated form, and be able to modify only their own pre-populated form.

Their feedback, data modification should registrate in my submission database

If you want to let your users to  modify your form after submission. It is possible with {edit_link} function. Please, check the guide below for more information:

    Thank you Beril,

In the form what the receiver get will contain many details about him, what I already have, and I want to be in the form. But I also want to let the receiver to update his details (address, phone, etc.).

I don't want my receivers to modify the form, but only the submission details.

And one user only his information, not all submission

    More details: Let say I am A. A wants to send a form to B, C, ... X.

A wants to include in the form some text input and some check boxes.

In the form A wants to tell B that I have some info about B (address, phone, email etc.). B should be able to change address of B. Then A wants to let B to submit these information.

C will see the contact details about C, but C will not change anything, but will submit some check boxes. A also want this information to collect in a database, in the same database where B and C had submitted their information.

C and B will not be able to see each other information.

I am not sure that I understand your workflow correctly. As far as I understand from your thread, you want to allow users to edit selected Data only in their responses while they are modifying form after submission, unfortunately, it is not possible with Jotform. However, I will search your request and if I find a solution for you I will update you from this thread.

    Many thanks Beril,

I don't want to let anyone to modify the form. I want respondents of the form to see some information what they can sometimes to modify. All submitted data, and the modification should arrive in that submission database. Also I am talking about 10-15 fields contact database. This is why I don't want to put my respondents to answer by typing in these information, as I already have data from a previous year.

    Hello Miklos,

If I caused the confusion I am sorry for that. When you create a form in JotForm , your users are able to edit their submissions with {edit-link} function so your customers will able to edit their submission's data by the help of the following guide:

    https://www.jotform.com/help/40-How-to-Let-Users-Update-Their-Form-Submissions-at-a-Later-Date

Please note that your users can not modify your form. However, they can update their submissions on their end. To do this you need to create an auto-responder.

After they receive the response, they can edit the submissions data as you see below:

Please clone the demo form and test it on your side. If it complies with your request, please do let us know. We can assist you to step by step.
