Is there a feature to save forms and continue it later?

    ALSO -- ANOTHER QUESTION

One part of our survey will require some thought on the part of the user. Can a user create an account, so they can come back and edit their responses later?

Your visitors/users can't create accounts within your form. To achieve what you're aiming to do, we have this feature called How-to-Save-Forms-and-Continue-Later If you clicked that link, you will see that this guide is quite long, requires a bit of setup (and daunting) But, this is very applicable to people who have lots of form pages.

However, if yours is just a few pages, then a simpler solution is to just enable the Autofill option on your form [GUIDE: How-to-Enable-Auto-Fill-Feature-Save-Form-Entries-to-Continue-Later

Since Autofill uses the browser's Local Storage, please keep in mind that your users need to use the same browser (where they left) in order for the saved field values to autofill in the form.

To enable this on your form, just click PREFERENCES at the top of your Form Builder

Click ADVANCED > then select ENABLED on the "Continue Forms Later" dropdown menu

I'd really like to use the first option. However, the directions & screen
shots provided your link to match with the forms. So... I'm a bit confused
about how to set this up properly.
Can you provide additional assistance on this?

I checked the guide and it is up to date, though that method is a bit long.  The easiest way to allow users to return to edit their submission would be to add an edit submission link in an email autoresponder.  Here is our guide on how to do so:

    https://www.jotform.com/help/40-How-to-Let-Users-Update-Their-Form-Submissions-at-a-Later-Date

The emailed link will allow users to return to their specific submission at any time to update their data.  Once the submission is updated, it will be replaced with the new data, rather than creating a new submission.

Unfortunately I can't have the user submit - and then go back to edit. Once
a user submits, that is a trigger for us to do something on our end. Once a
    user submits - that's it!
That said, I do want them to be able to save their work, to review it, go
back to it and edit if need be - BEFORE they hit submit.
Is the longer method the only way to do this?
Re: my question above. The information in the guide that isn't clear to me
    is on form 2 (

Screen shot attached -- I do not see the Red Orange box in my Form Builder.

    Back, Next)

The autofill feature my colleague suggested also works, although on a more temporary level.  As far as adding back/next buttons then finding the options for those button, this can be added using a "Page Break" from the "Survey Tools" section:

Click on the field after it is added to the form to bring up the options.

With the new set up to continue by clicking enbable there's no information on how long it is enabled for - is it forever? Til they clear their cookies on their browser?  Etc.... Also, if they open in a new browser or device do they still have to start over or is it saved?  The video shows the old way - might be nice to update ;).

Hello Susan, and thank you for your inputs. We encourage each of our users to open their own support threads when encountering issues or having additional / separate questions, so your question regarding auto-fill duration has been moved to a support thread of its own:

    https://www.jotform.com/answers/947894

We will be assisting you with it there, shortly. Thank you.
