How do I get data from one form into another?

I've scoured the message boards but I haven't found a satisfactory answer to my question:  How do I get data entered in one form to appear in another form.  I realize that this seems like it's adding prepopulated data, about which there are hundreds of posts.  But this isn't what I want.  What I want is just a simple way to "map" data entered in one form to another.  This seems like a simple thing, so perhaps I'm missing something??

    THANK YOU!

It is possible to forward submission data from one form to another when the form is submitted but only at the time the form is submitted and only the data that was captured in that that submission.  That process captures what was entered in the form at the time and fills the second form with that data  It is not currently possible to pull previously submitted data back into the form or in to another form.

    This is a similar question.

1a) Joe has access to question 1 of form A with unique ID  only (20 questions on form A),and responds + submits form A.

1b) Form B gets auto filled by Joe's submission.

2a) Mary has access only to question 2 of form A with unique ID (then responds + submits).

2b) Form B gets auto filled by Mary's submission.

etc. People filling in form A (unique ID) only need to respond to what they see/have access (Mary should not see Joe's question or answer) when a predetermined number of questions are answered on from A, someone gets an email to fill in form B that has all the information (text, calculations, data, results, etc.) from form A plus new questions to respond (+submit) based on the auto filled responses from form A.

I think I can handle the hiding, calculations and conditions in form A. What is the auto fill process to get the "data" into form B??

    Thanks

    Jeff

I believe you are looking for something like an approval type workflow:

    https://www.jotform.com/answers/795618-How-to-set-up-approval-workflow-using-Jotform

You can then use the finished form A to fill form B.  Set up the URL on the last step of form A to pass the data from form A to form B:
