Unsecured form warning on mobile devices after clicking the submit buttonAsked by formninja on August 12, 2016 at 10:47 AM
On top of the yellow WOT rating that is already a thorn in my side, users are now getting an SSL warning on mobile devices. It looks particularly scary for users on Android with a big red "you have malware! looking" red cross and warning message. I understand what it is, but other people do not and it scares them.
Tested on Android and getting the following error after clicking submit:
Your connection is not private
Attackers might be trying to steal your information from submit.jotformeu.com (for example, passwords, messages, or credit cards).
I am not redirecting to an external page, I am using your "Thank You"page.
This is happening on all my forms.
Please advise because users are complaining and even accusing me of running a Phishing scam now. I have already lost business because of this.
Here is a screenshot from Android
I have just tested your form and was not able to replicate the error. I tested on my android phone and an online emulator. Can you please indicate if you have embedded the form into your site.
As a note. I see that you are asking for sensitive information (USERNAME) This violates our terms and our phishing application will see this and will suspend you account. To avoid this, adjust the form properly.
I already have the buyers username before they complete the form. How can I phish information I already have? How else am I supposed to identify the users?
I have not embedded the form in my site, I use the web address you supplied.
I still get the error.
I have tested again the form but still not getting any errors after submitting the form. Can you please provide the URL you are using. It should be:
In regards to the username, it was more of a warning. We had users create forms to steal information and is the reason we implemented this rule. If you are not using for this purpose, I would not worry about it.
Our application detects the form and we investigate if it is a malicious form or not.
The form address is: https://form.jotformeu.com/60142766367358
But it does it on all forms I have tested.
I did notice your image above, you are using a jotformpro address and not jotformeu so I just tried using the jotformpro address instead and the problem has gone.
Seems it only happens this end when using jotformeu
Am I ok to use jotformpro over jotformeu? Are there any repercussions in doing so?
With regards to the username, I am not phishing information, i already have all the information asked for on the form, I just use that information to identify which forms belong to which orders.
I just tried again from jotformeu and it appears to be working now.
That's great to know. Please check your firewall settings or browser extensions/plugins/addons and make sure to whitelist Jotform. Your asking eBay Username and that may have triggered the error.
OK thank you.
