    Account Suspended

Asked by choreo on August 17, 2016 at 01:00 AM

I am a web designer that uses JotForm on several Websites. Yesterday, I recommended that one of my new clients open her own JotForm Account in my name. Since she is not as Tech-Savvy, she wanted "me" to create the new forms in "her" new JotForm account.

I started to create her first form tonight and all of a sudden I could no longer EDIT it? So, I logged out and tried to Login with her USERNAME and PASSWORD using another browser and now it says the Account has been suspended?

I never even finished creating the first form???

Please note that asking sensitive personal information violates our terms of use. Because of the field for password and SSN number on your form, our anti-phishing system flagged  the form and suspended the account.  That's why, I deleted those fields from the form and reactivated account.

If you need any further assistance from our side, please feel free to contact us.

    Thanks for reactivating the account!
It would help to have a clarification on these rules. Are you saying there in no way a person can submit a “Preferred Password” OR supply their “Social Security Number” via a JotForm? Why is that a problem? My client has an active Web Form on her website for that past several years that collects both those pieces of information. If everything has SSL, why is this an issue?
I am not arguing with the rules, just need to be able to explain to my client why she cannot do with JotForm what she has been doing for years on her website without JotForm.
Also, "Username" is OK, but "Password" is not?

The part related with phishing in our terms of use states  that  "You agree that Company may terminate your JotForm Service immediately if a form's purpose is found to be deceptively obtaining: sensitive credit card information, social security numbers, user login credentials, or other sensitive personal information. All these activities are considered as Phishing and any account along with the violating forms will be suspended immediately."

When you create a JotForm account, you also accept these rules.  Asking password is forbidden because of the fact that it is private for users and can not be displayed by other parties.

Regarding SSN number; We understood that there are businesses need users' SSN number but many of the form builders like us has been also used for identity theft.  In other words;  the reason to prohibit asking SSN number is to protect this theft.
    That's why,it is considered as a phishing.

Hope, I could express ourself  in a good way for this matter. Please feel free to contact us for any situation you may need assistance.
