If I set up email confirmation, is a captcha really necessary?

hello, Can I please ask your advice?  when using confirm email address widget do I still need capture word to stop spammers and robots filling in my forms?

I would say probably not.  Sending a verification code via email is a much stricter check than a Captcha.  Setting up a Captcha in addition to the verification seems a bit overkill.
