Reset a specific field on edit link.

    Hi Guys,

I'd like to be able to reset a field to 'blank' anytime the form enters an edit state after the first submission.

    https://form.jotform.co/62298654791874

Basically we are using a form collapse to hide an admin section of the form which can be made visible by typing in a code in field ''Admin Only'' - code is 1234.

The problem is, if the submitter goes back in to edit the form after an admin has placed the code in field ''Admin Only'', as the field was already filled by the admin, it remains filled and the submitter can see the Admin section in the second form collapse.

I'd like to some how tell that field to reset to blank each time the form is opened back up in edit mode, forcing the admin to have to re-enter the code each time.

    Is that possible?

    Cheers

    George

Once the field is filled, the data will remain there on the edit link. A workaround for this would be to re-edit the submission and remove the password before sending out the edit link back to the submitter. So, the process are the following:

    1. A person submitted the form.

    2. Admin filled the admin section and re-submit. User gets the edit link.

    3. Admin will edit the submission again, removing the password and re-submit.

Please try that and let us know if this works for you or not.

Thanks Welvin - yes this will work ok.

I did see something here about changing the source code to reset certain fields - might that be an option?

I am glad to know that the workaround will work for you. I checked the thread that you linked and it looks like the code that they added is simply a button that the user can click to reset a specific field. The code on the thread can only be used while the form is being filled by the user, not after. I believe your requirement is a bit different, since you require a field to be reset after the first submission. The only workaround seems to be the one suggested by my colleague Welvin.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.
    Regards.
