My customers frequently ask why the did not receive a confirmation email after they place an order through Jotform. Is there an available option for this?

Were you perhaps referring to the Autoresponder E-mail?
User guide: Creating-a-Form-Autoresponder
You can use the Autoresponder email as the confirmation email the user will receive after submitting the form.
