    Prepopulated field only works sometimes

Asked by Jamie Jorgensen on April 12, 2012 at 11:09 PM

    Hi -

I have a form that's embedded using an iframe on multiple pages.  We needed to know which page the form was being submitted on, so we added a field for pagename that is being prepopulated by a URL parameter.    The URL parameter is being written with PHP - $_SERVER["REQUEST_URI"].

This all seems great, but it only works about 50% of the time.  When I check my submissions, that field is sometimes blank.  Any insight into why this would not work 100% of the time?

    Thanks!

That REQUEST_URI is not supported on ALL webservers.

Why dont you populate the field via the form embed code URL, e.g, a form on web 'page 1': <iframe src="form.jotform.com/form/12345566?page=page1>

It should be a lot more robust instead of relying on server environment variables.
