I've built the PayPal form and tried for 2 hours to find out (add / upload file) how a customer receives his/her download PDF file following payment.

You might consider the following solution:
1) Mark the email and payment fields as required.
2) Go to the settings of the Autoresponder and use an Attach a File option.
The autoresponder email with attachment will be sent to the form user upon successful payment submission.
Additionally, if you host the PDF file somewhere, you can add its download link to the form Thank You Page.
