It might be a typo on the email address set on your account. For this reason to why it defaults to sending to email@example.com. However, I see that it is now fixed.
I also noticed that the said email firstname.lastname@example.org was in the bounce list. I had removed it already so it should start sending email alerts again to your email address. But please do observe if it continues to fail delivering the alerts.
