I would like to display languages in their native form, e.g.,
বাঙালি instead of Bengaliहिंदी instead of Hindi
Svenska instead of Swedish
Português instead of Portuguese
日本語 instead of JapaneseHow can I modify the language dropdown menu to do this?

Unfortunately, there is no option in the form builder that would allow you to set these native form or fonts in the drop down list for the language options. However, you can get the form's full source code and edit directly on the form code. Here's a guide on how to get your source code: https://www.jotform.com/help/104-How-to-get-the-Full-Source-Code-of-your-Form
Here's a sample test page I made, you can see that the list of languages you mentioned shows differently on my end: https://shots.jotform.com/charlie/change_lang.html. However, once selected, the default font or form will be displayed as the selected.
Let me forward this to our back-end team as a feature request, as I see this will be a great additional option. However, I cannot guarantee that this will be implemented, this depends on our developers current workload and the feasibility of the feature itself.
We will update you on this thread as soon as we hear any news.
Thank you.

drkirkwilsonReplied on August 29, 2016 at 3:45 PMThanks. I understand this is a feature. I am
guessing if whoever is responsible really wants to implement
multilingual features, displaying menus in the native language
regardless of whether it is country names or languages or
whatever, this will need to be implemented.
Could you put me on a list to get notice if this
feature is ever implemented? I have translated the form and the
Thank You pages for 21 or so languages. I am looking into the "How
to Let Users Update Their Form Submissions at a Later Date" to see if I can put directions into those
autoresponder emails in the target language for the user.
Thanks.
