We believe that if one user has a question, there could be more users who may have the same question. This is why many of our support forum threads are public and available to be searched and viewed. If you’d like help immediately, feel free to search for a similar question, or submit your question or concern.
Could you please provide us more information on what you would like to accomplish? Based from the other thread, you would like to have a feature or way to always set a datetime field to current whenever the submission is in edit mode? Is that correct? Unfortunately, it is not possible and the feature request seems to be far from being implemented.
Please let us know if I understood your concern correctly.
Yeah I found a work around but I loose a cool feature I had created.
My form sometimes takes a while to fill out and my users must edit. The final submission will give me the info to create a product for them. We need time to create it so I had a countdown calculated so they could see how many days were left and the late fees that would be accessed if submitted after the deadline. Unfortunately, the date stayed on the original day so the countdown stayed the same. I had tried the countdown widget but unfortunately its not dynamic and the submit dates are different for every user depending on when they want their shipment.
Workaround is that I can't show them the custom countdown I created using the current date field and a calculation, but I can make them fill out todays date and calculate late fees then before final submission by not letting them choose a past date.
Thank you for your update. Unfortunately, we do not have a ETA for when it can be implemented, but we will let you know if we receive any updates.
I am also looking for this feature.
I am trying to invent a Purchase Order system where various managers will approve different sections of the same form. I want to time stamp these approvals so they can analyse for efficiency afterwards.
I had hoped that making the date/time picker only conditionally appear would force the correct current date but it didn't.
Even a button in the calendar widget that inserts a 'current' date/time would be great.
Currently, my users will have to somewhat labourously click the calendar and time to indicate a 'current' datetime. Of course, I will have to make the field mandatory and also not allow past dates/times to ensure accuracy.
I have moved your concern to a separate thread so we can address it properly. Please see the thread here.
