On one of my forms, I have a field where the user can provide an optional URL. The label I use for this field is "URL (optional)". I don't provide a default value for this field.
When I preview this form, everything appears as I expect. The URL field is blank. However, when this same form is embedded on Google Sites, the URL field is pre-populated with the URL of the jotform.xml file I'm provided using the Embed Form Wizard.
If I change the label for the field to something else, e.g. "text", then the field behaves as expected on Google Sites. This field also works if I provide a default value.

I don't know the reason for this but one of my colleagues may be able to shed some light on the matter. However, in the interim, change the label to "Website address (optional)" and let us know if that helps. I figure that if the string "URL" is triggering this behavior, an alernative term for URL might do the trick. Another alternative for the label could be "URI (optional)".
