Inventory widget set value via conditional logic

I am wanting to create a form that when I check a box for a table it will remove 8 seats from a ticket count using the inventory widget.  I tried creating it with conditional logic but it will never assign the value in the inventory widget.

I found another question similar to this and found in an answer that said it could be done https://www.jotform.com/answers/518912-Feature-Request-Allow-the-total-item-in-Inventory-or-Quantity-Gift-Registry-widget-to-be-shared-by-two-fields

Is there something I'm missing to set the widget field?

As far as I know it is not possible to pass values from other fields into widgets, including Inventory widget. It is only possible to pass values from widgets to e.g. text field.

I have checked link of the thread you provided and demo form provided by my colleage on that thread is deleted, so I am not able to test it and see if this is possible. However I think that form on that thread was used to compare values from Inventory widget field and some other field. In case that values entered in both fields are not the same submit button would be hidden.

    Like this: https://form.jotform.com/62447025570958

I will also check with my colleague Charlie, to check if what you are trying to achieve is possible.

If it is we will inform you via this thread.

I have checked with my colleague Charlie and unfortunately it is not possible to pass values into Inventory widget.

Feel free to contact us if you have any other questions.

At this time, some widgets do have some functional limitation that it cannot do compare to using the regular fields instead.

So for now you may consider using other widgets or fields that have such feature to achieve what you wanted.

Let us know if you require further assistance about it.

    Yes.

I agree that this is a great feature and actually we have such similar request tickets already. If you like you can also submit a feature request.

Use this link https://www.jotform.com/contact/ to create the request. We will make sure to elevate it to our higher team support so they can review.

    Thanks.
