Visitors are stuck on that page with nowhere to go. On my embedded site, if a visitor hits their browser back button, they leave the form page completely which would be bad.

I have checked the form, but unfortunately I could not get the error message that you're referring, as far as I know there is only one general message that shows when the CC info entered is invalid.
Also, there is an error that appears in the form, while you're filling it out and it looks like this one:
Could you please provide us a screenshot of the error you're getting on your end?
