Unique name and Field ID: Request to simplify the access to the field information

    Hi,

    in the new Jotform interface the unique field name is not validated and it allows to assign an existing name.

    This could cause many problems...

     

    I take this opportunity to ask to simplify the access to the field information i.e. Unique name and FieldID:

    Edit Properties --> Advanced --> Field details

    I suggest to remove "Field details" button.

    Unique field name can be changed and I think that it was always possible to change it. 

    If you want to view all question tag names at once you can do that inside of Form builder by pressing CTRL+ Shift + I  and you'll get the list of all of your form field tag names.

    How to find field IDs and names

    I will also raise your request to your developers. However we can not give you exact time when and if this will be implemented.

    Yes, the unique field name can be changed, the problem is you can have more fields with the same Unique field name, i.e "via":

    It could cause problems.

    This was not permitted with the old Jotform interface: when you enter a name already used an error was show. The new interface should do the same.

    Another suggestion: CTRL+SHIFT+I could be perfect adding another column with the FIELD IDs

    Thank you for the clarification. You are correct that in the old interface, an error is shown whenever you change a field name with a name that already exists.

    I can confirm that this error does not show up on the new interface.
