Creating a Saved Lists that can used again in the future fields within the same account

Asked by boligskjema on September 20, 2016 at 01:35 PM

Saved lists would be great. I really don't want to move our account over to Formstack to get it.

We have a feature like that here in JotForm, please check these widgets:

    Configurable List widget
    https://widgets.jotform.com/widget/configurable_list [demo form]

    Infinite List widget
    https://widgets.jotform.com/widget/infinite_list [demo form]

    Here's a guide on How-to-Add-a-Widget-to-your-Form.

    Hope that helps. Thank you.

Thanks, but that doesn't do the same thing as the saved lists over at Formstack. I'm looking for saved lists which can be reused as options in dropdown lists, as we have many forms using the same dropdowns. These lists have a lot of options and they are updated frequently, so it would be a pleasure if we could update them all at once.

Do you mean something like dynamically saving options the users input? We have a widget for that, it is called "User Contributed Dropdown", please check it here: https://widgets.jotform.com/widget/user_contributed_dropdown

No, let me give you an example. Many of our forms contain equal dropdown lists with lots of names to choose from. These lists need to be updated very often, and today I have to edit each form with the same information. That task is made much easier with Formstack's saved lists, which let you edit those names in one place, before it's spread to all forms.

Thank you for giving us an example of what you would like to achieve.

I'm afraid we don't have a way to save pre-defined drop-down nor inject it to another form.

You can try creating a form with your dropdown fields and embed it to another form using the Iframe Embed widget, however, the data from the form with the dropdown fields embedded will not be recorded unless it is also submitted within the form where it is embedded.

For example, the form below has a form embedded in it.

You also need to submit the form within the form to record the data chosen from the drop-down fields.

If this will not work for you and you still want to have something that is similar with Formstack, I can submit a feature request to our developers on your behalf. However, we cannot give you any guarantee that this will be available anytime soon. It will still be reviewed to check its feasibility and will still undergo the approval process just like any other feature requests.

    Thank you.

Thanks, but that solution doesn't seem very professional. Please submit a feature request, as this is very important to us.

I have already submitted the request that will save pre-defined fields so it can be used to other/multiple forms. You will be notified via this thread for updates if there are any.

"Pre-defined fields" sounds more like the widget suggested by Jan, above, than the saved lists or options I'm talking about, but I guess you understand what I mean :)
