Inventory Widget: selecting the same quantity on multiple submissions triggers the unique question error

I need to keep unique submissions enabled in order to manage product inventory correctly. When I test and click submit, I get the following error. If I turn off unique submissions, I get 3 duplicate submissions for every click. Thanks for any help!

    Hello,

When I made a test submission from a cloned form, I was not able to replicate the issue. Is this issue still happening on your end? and if so, can you share with us the form you're using so we can check if it's a browser-related matter?

    Thanks.

This problem is indeed still happening. Submitters are getting the multiple submission error messages even though their order has been submitted. Below is the link to the form. Let me know if you need any more information.

    Hi,

You have enabled "Unique Question" in your form. Base on your current settings, the unique question set is the instructor name field. Note that any duplicate entry in this field will result in that error. The unique question simply rejects submissions with a duplicate entry in the field specified.

So if you want to allow multiple submissions on that field, simply set Unique Question to No Check.

Regarding on the duplicate submissions you are receiving, that seems to be a weird case. That is not how the form should respond, you should only receive one submission in your form submissions page per submission. If you are receiving multiple submissions, please open a separate thread about this so we can create a bug ticket and send it to our developers.

FYI, on email notifications, if you have multiple notifications in your form with the same recipient email address, you will receive all the notifications on every submission. Ex, if you have 3 notifications in your form, you will receive all the 3 notifications at once.

If you have further questions, let us know.

Thanks for the response. I need to maintain unique user settings and as multiple users may be submitted from the same IP address. I do not want multiple submissions with the same instructor name, so that setting is intentional.

Multiple submissions was the reason I started this thread. It is a challenging problem as the only way to solve the error message at the conclusion of the form is to turn off unique submission checks. When I turn these off, I end up with 3 submissions from each user. If you'd like to redirect to another thread, that would be fine, but I'd appreciate you looking into the bug and helping to correct the forms.

I made a clone version in your account with the Unique Question enabled, and the submission worked fine:

    Result:

After attempting to submit for the second time with the same instructor name, it did not let me, because of the unique question feature:

Can you please test the cloned version? It should work as expected. Let us know if you need more help.

When I went through the cloned version of the form, I still got the error message although it only submitted one form. I notice that in your test you didn't select any product. Could this be part of the multiple submission issue?

I am sorry for the tests, I am able to replicate the problem but the submissions are being recorded in the form. I am still not sure what's the cause, but I think it's when you submit the same value to any of the widgets in the form. I'm still doing some test on your form, but I'll make sure to reset it later.

Any updates on how to workaround this issue of multiple submissions?

I'm sorry for waiting, it's been 4 days. But I have this in my notes and there is really a bug on the widget. Even if it's not the selected unique question, selecting the same quantity on the second submission will give you the error.

I'm forwarding this to our widget team. If there are updates, you should know it on this thread. For the meantime, you may consider using our Quantity Gift Registry widget to configure the items.

The only downside of this widget is that you cannot set a product image.
