How hide/show fields in form by using conditions?

I received some advice about adding parameters into the hidden fields in my pet online registration form for a vet practice, but I am SO confused by the instructions and the fields that I have added in (for Pet 2 and Pet 3) are not hidden so my form looks very messy with 5 parameters (as shown with bullet points) not hidden

Would you like to add another pet?

Pet 2 Sex:

Pet 2 Neutered:

Pet 2 Microchip Number (if known):

Pet 3 Sex:

Pet 3 Neutered

- please help with this

I think you did not define conditions for the fields that are not hidden. 

Also have a look at the introduction to conditionals under the heading smart forms.

Oh my goodness - it is all so complicated and I still cannot get it to work - keep getting 3 fields still showing! I checked your form and I see what is the problem.

You had conditions created, but then, I assume, you did some changes on your form so your conditions broke. Also in order for those conditions to work properly you have to hide all fields that are included in conditions:

And that will work as intended.
