Unwanted Line Break in Text E-mail notification.

Asked by klevas on April 25, 2012 at 07:42 AM

    Hi,

Firstly I would like to thank you for such a great form builder! It is amazing!

I have a minor issue with notifications (after form submission).

I do have a lot of Multi-line fields in my form, and when I receive email with data from them, it gets "wrapped" with line breaks (even when there is no line breaks). (then I use other tool, to import it to my CRM software, and it makes a bit of confusion).

Is it somehow possible, to make it not to wrap text? Only when line break is inserted?

    Thanks

    Hi,

I would like to inquire though why would you not use the html mode of the email notification? It actually get organized on this mode.

    Thanks.

I am importing this data into our CRM software, this is the way it is setup to recognise and fetch them.

If there is no other option, I will try to convert it to html.

I there an easy way to convert it to html "to keep the same looks"?

But if you convert it to html, you might not be able to import/parse it to your CRM anymore.
Please hold a while, I will check for other option without altering what you have for now.

I've just checked my import software, it actualy treats HTML without any codes.

If it looks the same way as my plain text, then it should work.

I will test it right now with this: http://www.textfixer.com/html/convert-text-html.php

I created a test form here. Try to clone it if you like so that you can see the email notification.

What I did is, I created the email notification (default html mode).
Then switch it to text mode, then switch again back to html mode...
it was not able to retain all the table/borders of the form (it look like an ordinary text again).

Then using the HTML editor, I added <div> so I can insert some nowrap styling.

    This is the email result(screen)

Please inform us if this does not help you out. Thanks.

    Thanks,

I've did the same with HTML, but didn't know about the styling.

I've added this styling to my form, will perform a check now.

    Will let you know!

    Tested it, it actualy works.

Emails I receive, ar not wraped.

The only issue, is with my import software, it still manages to wrap them (at least a little bit less than it used to) Will be looking in to it.

Thank you for your fast and helpfull reply!
