How should I best avoid spam?

We were getting a massive amount of spam/illegitimate signups before moving to jotform, which definitely made a big difference.  I'm just wanting to find out whether there's a known method to make a form as anti-spam as possible.  I've got recaptcha in which is great.  I still feel like some of our signups may be illegitimate as our signups don't directly correlate with our social media channel activity.  So yeah I'd love some advice on this.
