I had my client ordered a service and paid for it. Now it is time for me to send him an excel report. How do i attach an EXCEL or zip file to the same form he had submitted to me so that i know i have done my work.

Export your data to Excel format:

Then send that file directly via email.  If you had email notifications set up for your form, forward that notification with your file attached.

    Hello dotgirish,

Please note that when you download the submissions in excel, it will download all the submissions you have received at the time of download.

If you need updated excel all the time, you should create an excel report or grid listing report and share the URL with your client. Every time they click on the report URL, it will always display up to date submission data. The following guide should help you:

    Excel report:  https://www.jotform.com/help/101-How-to-Create-an-Excel-Report

    Grid listing report:  https://www.jotform.com/help/105-How-to-Create-a-Grid-Listing-Report

    Thank you!

Sorry to not mention my problem clearly earlier..

Infact i really don't need to download the submission in excel. I just need to go to a form which is submitted and then reply to him with my work details (normally my work details is in xls format). Also once i reply my work details , i would like to track my reply for future reference.

That is what my requirement is ..  hope i made it clear

If I understood you correctly you want to reply to your users from submission page with Reply option and you want to attach xls file.

Considering that there is no attach file option in Reply email, you will need to upload your file on some server, like dropbox and then add link that file inside of reply email. If you are going to send different field to each user then you will need to repeat this process.

Maybe it would be easier if you reply to your users via your email client instead. This way you would also be able to track your reply's.

However if you want to send same file to all of your users, that I would suggest you to create Autoresponder email and attach your file there.

You can also send your users PDF report that will contain data they have submitted.

Thanks you understood my requirement correctly and thanks for the details.

So now if i upload my attachment to dropbox and reply from the form as mentioned above, will i be able to track my responses in jotform itself ? Assume that i am not using any email client. I want to restrict my responses within Jotform.

What i am looking for is a track of responses similar to this form, where we have the history of discussion with the client for the specific order. If it is not available readily can we suggest it as a feature request.

Thanks for your help so far..

You will be able to track your Reply responses on JotForm. You will be able to find them by checking email history log on your account.

How to View All Your Form Email History

They will be shown along with all other emails such as email Notifications and all Autoresponder emails that were sent to your users (in case that you have set Autoresponder email inside of your forms). However please note that from recent email history log will only be shown data for past 3 months, older data will be deleted from our database. So you will not be able to find data after 3 months and this is why I suggest you to use your email client.

Hope this will help. Let us know if you need further assistance.
