This not doable using the Jotform builder alone. The hidden field will stay hidden, and cannot transfer its value on a visible field on the form without some outside function.

By outside function I meant using the source code embed and use some javascript or PHP function to generate an autonumber and display it in the form. I think you cannot transfer the value of the hidden field on the form load, since it only get triggerd everytime the form is submitted (not on load).

Hope this provide a helpful insight. Thanks.

Is there any specific reason you would like the number to be visible on the form? We may be able to provide a workaround if we knew that.

In that case, you can have the ID number displayed in the thank you message and/or an auto-response.

To have the ID appear in the customer's email, load the form containing the customized unique ID into the form builder, change the label of the custom ID field from "Click to edit" to something more appropriate and click Add New Email > Autoresponder Email. An auto-response containing a the ID will now be sent to each person who makes a submission.

To have the custom ID appear in the thank you message, click the "Thank You" button (Setup & Embed tab), select "Thank You mesage", click "Next" and include the tag used in the autoresponder in the message. For instance, if you rename the Custom ID field "Custom ID", the tag will probably be {customId}. Use that tag in the thank you message.
