Security Alert - jotform on facebook

Asked by Kampitsch on May 03, 2012 at 03:00 AM

Hey, we are two students from Linnaeus University, in sweden that currently are working on a project and have chosen to use a quantitative research approach and therefore developed a online survey using your tool...

The problem we are facing is that we are contacting members of a club via their facebook accounts and have expereinced extremely, I mean extremely low response rates..

In our pre-test we had approximately 30% response rate, yesterday when we purchased your upgrade and send it out again we had 1%!?!?

Did you have any problems with you page yesterday? Otherwise we belive it has something to do with a new security alert messages that respondants recieve via facebook and thefore do not fill in the survey..

We appreciate any help or tip you can give us!

    Best regards

    Hello,

We apologize for this inconvenience.  Yesterday, we were working on some security warning issues of jotformeu.com.  It's fixed now:

    http://static-safeweb.norton.com/report/show?url=form.jotformeu.com

If you're still seeing this security alert on your facebook page, please let us know.

    Thanks.

    Hey,

We have noticed a difference on facebook:

    1. When we link to our form: http://form.jotformeu.com/form/21064055005338 - respondants still recieve a security alert message, however

    2. When we link to a second form: http://form.jotformpro.com/form/21235982599971 - no security alert message appears

Is there anyway we could change from jotformeu to jotformpro on our first form (without losing our data) as this seems to be the only difference and the problem?

    Thanks

Unfortunately, you cannot change the assigned URL to your form from jotformeu to jotformpro.  However, you can use the secure URL https://secure.jotform.com/form/21064055005338.  Since you are a Premium subscriber, you are allowed to use SSL as long as your submissions are within the regular monthly limit.

As of checking, the security alert message has already been resolved.  I noticed that your first form's URL is appearing to point to http://www.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fform.jotformeu.com%2Fform%2F21064055005338&h=8AQGTTQYU

While the 2nd form goes directly to  http://form.jotformpro.com/form/21235982599971 with no reference to using facebook.

This is how it looks like right now when you attempt to click a link going outside facebook:

You'd notice that the Norton Security warning is no longer there.  If you use the jotformpro.com link, the same will appear, Or any link even Google.

If you have other questions or concerns, please let us know.
