Upload Form does not work any more - wrong file type / extension ?

    Hello!

A problem occured since yesterday with our upload form. We allow all types of files to be uplaoded and therefore use an asterisk "*". According to your description:
    https://www.jotform.com/help/29-How-to-Change-the-Allowed-File-Types-Extensions-in-the-Upload-Field

Unfortunately it is not working any more: Upload tool said something like "wrong file type" when trying to upload any file, for example PDF. We did not change anything at our form in advance! Are there any know issues? Jotform status page says everything is fine?

We did a workaround to solve this issue: I just tried to leave the "file type" / "file extension" field blank: I deleted the asterisk. It seems after deleting it, Jotform automatically put all possible Filetypes there: "pdf, doc, docx, xls, xlsx, csv, txt, rtf, html, zip, mp3, wma, mpg, flv, avi, jpg, jpeg, png, gif".

Is the Asterik not workingany more?

    Thanks for your answer!

We're sorry about that. We had a minor technical issue with File Uploads but this has been fixed. I have cleared your Form Cache so please give it another try now and let us know if you're still having issues so we can have another look.

Sorry guys, I'm having the same problem and it happened a few minutes ago (I even submitted a ticket, so you can disregard it).

Could you help me doing the same (clearing the form cache)?

    @calidadyproyectosdtv,

I can see you have opened your own thread about this matter, here is the link: https://www.jotform.com/answers/968347-

We had an issue with uploads earlier today, but this was already resolved, please check that thread where you already received a reply and if the issue still persists, please let us know on that thread.

Thank you for answering, but I have to repeat my question: "Is the asterik not working any more?"
Should we use the asterisk or should we put all those possible filetypes in the extension field?

And another question (I already posted about this some weeks ago in another thread): What is the exact purpose of your "status page" if there is no current updates concerning such issues? This could save a lot of time for you and us and threads like this one would be unnecessary. As it is for now, our customers are calling us if they encounter any problems with our upload form: "Oh, is there again some problem with your form?" No good.

Will it be possible in the near future to have those issues listed on jotform status page? If not, why? Sorry folks, if you are serious about customer support - and I think you are - there is no obvious reason for hiding such issues...

To answer your question the asterisk to allow all file types to be used is indeed working and I have just tested this to check it just to make sure before replying to you about it.

We've mentioned it in this guide https://www.jotform.com/help/29-How-to-Change-the-Allowed-File-Types-Extensions-in-the-Upload-Field that my colleagues have shown you otherwise if it was not working or not there anymore then we would've changed it in the guide too if that was the case.

You only need it if you want to allow most file types and do not want to block or limit whichever file types that you want to have uploaded on your form.

Is it still not working on your form on your side?

As for your question about the status page I didn't find any threads about this asked previously via your account though that is an unrelated follow-up question to the original subject here and I have moved it over here https://www.jotform.com/answers/972037 to help you more.

Thank you for fixing the file extension issue. It is working again. Also the asterisk is working again!
