Dropdown Images, Hidden fields and Email notifications

Asked by chetiboy on May 04, 2012 at 06:33 AM

    Hi JotForm!

I've set accompanying images on items chosen from the dropdown fields in our order form at http://www.erbandchet.com/Erb_and_Chet/Order_Page.html

Items get shown and hidden depending on what the user chooses in the order form.

On our email notifications, several problems occur

    1. chosen item's image is not included in the mail notification we get

    2. hidden items show on the mail notification we get (is there a way to hide them from the mail notification if they weren't chosen?)

    Thank you for contacting us.

    1. Unfortunately, it is currently not possible to show the images dynamically in email notifications. In other words you can edit email notification in order to embed some static image, but you can not embed the images from  Image & Free Text HTML fields.

    2. Currently, we have something like enabled Auto Hide Empty Fields for notification emails, but it works only for Radio Button, Check Box, File Upload, Scale Rating and Matrix (with Radio Button and Check Box inputs) fields. Also, it works only for default notifications, if you change the notification body, all the fields will appear. We will try to improve this system in the future.

The solution is to replace your Drop Down fields with Check Box fields.

Alternatively, you may delete field names from notification body and just leave field {tags}. Tags will not show any information for empty entries.

Please also note that we have an option to Auto Hide Empty Fields on Submissions page, and it is possible to forward "clean" messages from that page.

Please feel free to contact us if you need any further assistance.
