It should be possible to delete the selected chart by clicking the X button on the top right. Although based on your screenshot it looks like the options are not visible when the chart has no data. I did some tests on my end and I was able to replicate the issue.
After several tests, I was able to remove it by saving the report then reloading the page again. Please try the same on your end and let us know if the issue still persists.
Regards.

Thanks. I cloned the report, noticed that the widget did have a red x on the clone. So I deleted the widget and then deleted the original report. I know not to try to chart subjective (text box) data.

You should still be able to chart data from a Textbox field. However, the field needs to already have data inside them, otherwise you would receive the "No Data Available" message as seen on your screenshot.
Below is an example of a textbox with data inside them.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.
Thank you. -

Just to test it, I tried to do a visual chart on a text box field, and that's when it showed no data available. All our scaling and ranking fields are required fields, but the text box fields were not. Hm- maybe that's why? I'll try to chart a filled text box and see how that would appear. For now, I'm putting those in a separate table chart...

Please give it a try and let us know.
Also, just to ensure it works I have tested it on my end and I can confirm what my colleague Christian said above, Text Boxes can be included in a chart, but they will only show if there is submitted info on them.

But that doesn't show what was typed into the text box.

Yes, it shows what you've typed in the Text Box, what happens is that I entered "1" in my submissions, I have not entered "Submission 1" and "Submission 2", you can see my visual report here: https://www.jotform.com/report/63006071945048
Here is the link to my testing form so you can submit it with your text, refresh the report and you will notice it shows the typed text: https://form.jotform.com/63005338690959
